Happiness is...

dancing with my boys....

Specifically to this song:

Whenever this song comes on Noggin (or Nick Jr. or whatever they're calling it these days) Nate and I stop whatever we're doing and jump up to dance together.  It's a fantastic song and puts me in a good mood no matter how cranky, tired, or old I'm feeling!  Nate always requests that I jump (or move, or dance, or swing, or whatever) FASTER!  I might be feeling sluggish or lazy or have my nose buried in something but as soon as I hear Nate say "Let's Dance!" - I drop everything for these fleeting, precious moments!

Awww, you rock Mama! Brie dances all over the place to Laurie Berkner (loves the family song), and Ting Ting's birthday song. I just watch and soak it all in most of the time. Next time, I'll get up/ out and join in. Thanks for the inspiration! <3

Oh oh oh. While I'm not a fan of most kiddie music I will say that both my husband and I like Laurie Berkner, and love even more that SHE'S the one singing on NickJR (prev. Noggin) because, um, there's a lot of tv watching around here. Like the commenter above we love the Family Song. I just had to go find it, so here you go:

We sing it when it comes on the tv and we even sing it when it's not on tv. Yup, we can be pretty dorky around here. But that's ok. We balance it out by also exposing the kids to the Beastie Boys, James Taylor, Bob Marley, and electronica. Music and kids is funny.

Shana, we love Laurie Berkner here too!!! We actually found her cd at the library and Mason loved to listen to it (well, to tell you the truth, so did I). Thanks for sharing the song with us. We started singing and dancing along with it.

btw, I like the name Noggin better. Mason was all confused for a while cause he loves to visit their website and he kept saying, "Mommy I want Noggin." I think he understands now. Now he says, "Noggin is now Nick Jr."
